Real Appeal is being aimed at a valuable contest in Doha later this month after making a winning start for Ado McGuinness at Dundalk a couple of weeks ago.

The six-year-old was a Group 3 and Group 2 winner at Leopardstown for Jessica Harrington before being acquired for 130,000 guineas at the Newmarket Horses-in-Training sale in October.

The German-bred readily won a seven-furlong conditions race under stable apprentice Adan Caffrey on his first start since Irish Champions Weekend and is all set for his journey to the Middle East where the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup over a mile on Saturday week will be his target.

"He is heading off to Qatar next Friday," said McGuinness.

"There is a lot of prize money there and it is definitely going to be a little bit more competitive than it was the last couple of years - I think Aidan (O'Brien) is sending out three horses as well.

"It is not going to be easy, but they look after us very well and it is definitely worth a shot. He is a horse that ran in a Breeders' Cup, so he is entitled to be there.

"He was very good (on the Polytrack) and we had him down here once before. Fingers crossed he will put up a good show.

"The ground is gorgeous out there. It was quick out there, the year Bowerman won on it he was quite sore after it. He hasn't really been the same horse. They really have done a great job on it (ground) since last year."
