Jessica Harrington is looking forward to Steps To Freedom making his debut over fences at Killarney on Tuesday, as long as the ground is suitable.

The Co Kildare trainer reports the smart dual-purpose performer ready to tackle the bigger obstacles for the first time in public in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.

Harrington will keep an eye on the weather as she does not want conditions to be too testing.

"The plan is to run him as long as they don't get too much rain down there," said Harrington. "We've been delighted with him and his schooling. He's fit and ready to go."

Steps To Freedom is a Grade Two winner over hurdles and has good form on the Flat, finishing fifth behind Estimate in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot on his latest start just two weeks ago.

He faces 12 rivals, including the Michael Winters-trained Rebel Fitz, winner of the Galway Hurdle last summer and fifth to Hurricane Fly in the Rabobank Champion Hurdle at Punchestown last month.

Among others in the line-up are Henry de Bromhead's Darwins Fox and Charles Byrnes' Arnaud, who were second and third respectively behind the Willie Mullins-trained Turban at Cork three weeks ago.
