Red Heel put in a fine front-running effort in the Seamus Mulvaney Crockafotha Fillies & Mares Handicap at Bellewstown.
The Dylan Thomas filly raced second to Sweet Justice in the early stages before assuming the lead after a furlong.
This was her first start since January and she bounded along on good terms with herself.
She had her rivals off the bridle racing into the final couple of furlongs and Leigh Roche pushed her clear at the furlong marker.
That was the race-winning move as she kept on to close out the race by a cosy length and a quarter at 14/1. Dedillon (10/1) was the horse who closed in second without ever threatening. Kew Palace completed the placings at 14/1, beaten two and three quarter lengths by the winner.
Trainer Michael Mulvany said: “We had her entered earlier in the year but there was a problem with her vaccinations so we said we’d keep her for here. She should have run a month ago.
“I thought she was an ideal one to jump and go and I’m delighted for the owner Susan Archdeacon who is a lovely person.
“She’s only rated 56 so hopefully the handicapper won’t go mad. She’s a big filly but has a lot of quirks attached to her. I have to get Will Hayes to put her in the stalls.
“She has ability and there are more races to be won if we can keep her in the same frame of mind.”
