Redback set to run in France

Redback headed 15 horses declared at today`s probables stage for the Poule d`Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) at Longchamp on Sunday.

Darryll Holland has been booked to renew his partnership with the Richard Hannon-trained colt, on whom he finished third in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last Saturday.

Will Edmeades, racing manager for owner The Waney Racing Group Inc, said earlier today: 'Redback seems to have come out of the Guineas very well and I think there is every chance he will run in France.

'The horse seems to be bouncing after Newmarket - in top form - and with a smallish field he`d have an excellent chance.

'Darryll Holland gave him a great ride at Newmarket and took the initiative going to the far rail. He will ride the horse again.'

Other British acceptors are Captain Rio (trained by Richard Whitaker, ridden by Thiery Jarnet), Guys And Dolls (Paul Cole, Dominique Boeuf), Studio Time (John Gosden, Richard Hughes) and Aramram (Mick Channon), with Godolphin leaving in Firebreak (Frankie Dettori) and Waldenburg (Jamie Spencer).

The field also includes Aidan O`Brien`s Landseer and the highly-regarded Vodafone Derby entry Shaanmer.

Britain`s acceptors in the Poule d`Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas), are Zenda (Gosden, Hughes), Camaret (Gosden), Lipstick (Channon), Trojan Princess (Geoff Wragg, Holland) and Massarra (John Dunlop, Pat Eddery).

Repertory (Malcolm Saunders, Fergus Sweeney) and Red Millennium (Alan Berry, Francis Norton) are the two British acceptors in the Group Three Prix de Saint-Georges over five furlongs.
