Redemption Ready For Ascot Test

Nigel Twiston-Davies confirmed the enigmatic Redemption on course for the BGC Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday.

Winner of the John Smith's Hurdle at Wetherby on his seasonal reappearance, he has not reproduced a glimmer of that form in two subsequent outings.

He carried a welter burden when pulled up behind Star De Mohaison at Cheltenham and then finished over 10 lengths behind Inglis Drever in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury.

'You never know what will happen with Redemption, but he will run on Saturday and I think Dave England will ride, as I think Tony Evans will be at Haydock,' reported the Cotswold-based trainer.

'He has a lot of ability but it is just a question of him putting it all together.

'We have said that we won't run him over fences again but you never know, we might do that one day but he is in great form.'
