Regal to Parade stuff at Curragh Dual Group One winner Regal Parade returns to action in the Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes at the Curragh this Sunday. Dandy Nicholls has chosen the Group 3 seven-furlong contest as a starting point for the top-class performer. The Pivotal gelding has blossomed since joining the 'sprint king', winning an Ayr Gold Cup and scoring at the highest level in his last two campaigns. The seven-year-old gives weight away to all his rivals due to the Group One penalty he carries for winning the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock in 2009 and the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville last year. “All being well he'll go over. It's a nice race to start him off in and he seems in good order,” said Nicholls today. “He has won over six and seven so the trip won't bother him. We are looking at the (Group 2) Duke Of York Stakes (May 11th) for him but we'll see how he gets over this first.” Nicholls has an excellent strike rate with his raiders in recent years and is planning several visits here this year. “We'll have a few flying about,” added the Yorkshire handler.
