Jockey Ben Kennedy produced a power packed finish on the Paul Fahey trained Rememberwhat to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle at Sligo.

Sent off 9/2 in the colours of owner Mrs Siobhain Fahey, the six-year-old gelding was dropped in towards rear of the five runners.

Coming through to dispute two out, the son of Elusive Pimpernel held a narrow lead at the last but was strongly pressed by Danny Gilligan on Fuusland in the dying strides.

Both horses flashed by the winning post together but the resultant photo showed that Kennedy had just done enough on Rememberwhat to score by a nose.

Ben Kennedy said "I thought going to the last that he'd quicken up, but he doesn't do a whole pile when he gets there.

"He just drifted a little bit in the run-in, but there was no contact.

"He's a big lairy oul lad, but he loved that ground and his jumping will sharpen up as he gets more experience. He'll jump a fence as well."
