Renaissance next up for Moviesta Moviesta will not take up his entry in the Nunthorpe at York next week and will instead stay on these shores for the Gerrardstown House Stud Supporting Breast Cancer Research Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh. Well backed to repeat his victory of 2013 in the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood at the end of July, he blew the start and was always on the back foot. Trainer Eddie Lynam now feels it is wise to lower the five-year-old's sights slightly and stay closer to home for the Group Three on August 22. "He missed the break and when he tried to make up the ground it was the fastest three furlongs of the race," said part-owner Ritchie Fiddes. "Unfortunately Goodwood is a track you just can't afford to do that, he over-exerted himself mid-race and come the finish he had nothing left, especially as they nearly broke the track record. "It was a real shame but he just couldn't get back into the race. On a track he loves, we were disappointed with how it panned out. "We're not going to send him to the Nunthorpe, Eddie would rather keep him closer to home for the Renaissance Stakes at the Curragh."
