Owner Rich Ricci has hopes for new recruit Allez Colombieres as last year's French champion three-year-old bumper horse prepares to tackle a hurdles campaign.

The Sageburg gelding was last seen winning at Saint-Cloud in November 2013 and Ricci is eager to see how he gets on in the hurdles sphere for trainer Willie Mullins.

He said: "Allez Colombieres was three from four in bumpers in France and I think he's one to really look forward to. Hopefully he can reach the highest level over hurdles."

Ricci also gave favourable mention to Kalkir, who is also with Mullins, while revealing that plans for star mare Annie Power are still very much under discussion.

He said: "Kalkir, who's a three-year-old, was fourth in a newcomers race in France. Hopefully he'll do well.

"We haven't made a decision about Annie Power yet, we've had lots of discussions about her, but she's summered well. She's very good."

Ricci did not have such good news of Thomas Hobson though, a horse he snapped up last October after the four-year-old won a Doncaster handicap for John Gosden.

Thomas Hobson has not run since that win and he is unlikely to be seen in action in the immediate future.

"Unfortunately Thomas Hobson picked up a niggle, it's nothing serious but he won't be out until after Christmas."
