Rob Ready For Kempton

Brendan Powell's highly-regarded chaser Big Rob is likely to be back in racecourse action next week.

The seven-year-old went some way to erasing the memories of a frustrating campaign last year when bouncing back to form on his seasonal reappearance at Huntingdon last time.

Sent off the 2-1 favourite, Big Rob travelled kindly for Timmy Murphy and stayed on strongly to register a cosy success after assuming command before the second last.

And having come out of that race in good shape, Powell is now eyeing a race at Kempton next week.

'Big Rob is good and he'll go to Kempton next Tuesday for a 0-135 (the Provincial Handicap),' he said.

'The handicapper's put him up to 131 but we go there on Tuesday and it's a similar course to Huntingdon so two and a half miles around there should be right up his street.'
