Rock Decision Expected Today

A decision on the future of record-breaking Rock Of Gibraltar is expected sometime today, trainer Aidan O'Brien revealed yesterday.

Joint owners of the multiple Group One winner, Sue Magnier and Sir Alex Ferguson, have been considering whether to retire the three-year-old colt to Coolmore or to keep him in training for another year.

'The Rock' has already appeared on the list of Coolmore`s stallions for 2003.

It has already been confirmed that a host of Ballydoyle stars, headed by dual Derby and Breeders` Cup Turf hero High Chaparral, Hawk Wing, Black Sam Bellamy, Sholokhov and Milan are to grace the race tracks next season.

Aidan O`Brien will have a lot of maiden three-year-olds in his yard at the start of next term after the problems the stable had during 2002. `As we missed the middle third of the season we have a lot of unraced or once-raced horses,` he said.
