Rogue Wave, who finished down the field in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on his debut, is poised to have his sights raised even higher this season.

The Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket on October 12 could come into play for a horse who is held in some regard by trainer Alan Jarvis.

Connections feel the step up to seven furlongs will also play to his strengths.

Matthew Hilton, racing manager for his owners Market Avenue Racing Club, said: "He might have finished 10th but he ran a cracking race in the Coventry and we were very happy with him.

"That trip was probably shorter than he wants and Alan said he'll be a lot better over seven furlongs.

"We've a lot to look forward to with this one, and maybe something like the Dewhurst would be for him later in the season."
