The Charles Weld-trained Rosato stuck her neck out late on to edge a bunch finish in the NFP Handicap at Naas.

There were plenty in with chances going to the furlong pole in the race, run over just shy of six furlongs.

Rosato and Carrigans Grove were head to head in the closing stages and the former just prevailed by a short-head at the line under Niall McCullagh.

“She’s a very hardy girl and I’d say being back on that easier ground helped her,” said Weld of his 14/1 winner.

“We thought she was well handicapped and she ran a cracker first time out (finished 8th at the Curragh) when we knew she needed the run.

“As she can she sulked a bit the last time. Niall knows her well and was very good on her today, the two of them were good and strong in the finish.

“Hopefully we’ll get another one or two out of her.”
