Rosshaven Lady (7/2) showed improvement from her debut performance when staying on stoutly in the mares' bumper at Limerick.

Aidan O'Brien's five-year-old ran on well in Ballinrobe last month to be fifth but made no mistake tonight.

Sarah O'Brien sent her to the front with under five furlongs to race. Her main rival, Avichi the well-backed 8/11 favourite, progressed to third with less than three furlongs to go.

In the home straight Avichi closed right up on the tail of Rosshaven Lady a furlong and a half out. It looked only a matter of time before she went past but Rosshaven Lady powered away in the final furlong with the favourite making no impression.

The winner drifted left close home but had four and a quarter lengths in hand. Avichi lost second to 66/1 chance Siberian Vixen who kept on well in the final furlong.

"She had a lovely run first time up in Ballinrobe and progressed well," said Aidan O'Brien.

"Joseph and the lads always liked her and Sarah gave her a lovely ride. She was green enough in front and will improve again."

Willie Mullins 's Avichi had been backed from 7/4 this morning.
