Royal back wth a bang

Old Theatre Royal pulled away in the closing stages to run out a cosy winner of the two-mile handicap hurdle at Tramore.

Brian O'Connell produced his mount with a well-timed run to lead at the second last and he stretched clear from the final flight to record a eight-length victory over Burnfort Girl.

Lorcan Donnelly's charge was making his first start since November and is set to turn out again next week.

"Brian gave him a beautiful ride and he did it nicely," said Donnelly.

"It wasn't the best of races but he's good in his own category. He might run again next Friday at Wexford."
