Call It Magic made it a double on the card for his rider Ruby Walsh (won earlier on Aretesone , as he registered a deserved win in the Casey Brothers Supporting Their Local Racecourse Beginners Chase.

Successful in a point-to-point and bumper last year, the Ross O'Sullivan trained six-year-old was then sent over flights, failing to score in five efforts.

He filled the runner-up spot on his racecourse debut over fences at Roscommon last month, and he was sent off the 4/7 favourite to go one place better today.

Having tracked the leader in the early stages, he led from the fourth, and was ridden to assert after the second last, keeping on well from there to score easily by twelve lengths. Black Franks Angel finished second under Brian Hayes for Henry De Bromhead at 9/2, while Crocodile Dundee was four lengths back in third under Keith Donoghue for Tom Cooper at 7/1.

O'Sullivan said afterwards: "He won well today but it probably wasn't the strongest race in the world. It's good to get that out of the way.

"He won his point-to-point by twenty-five lengths and we thought he was going to be a Grade 1 horse. He then won his bumper by ten lengths with Katie on him.

"He is way better over fences and there might be a staying handicap chase in him down the line. He will probably stay in novice company for the moment.

"He is owned by Charles and Zorka Wentworth and they have been very good to me and Katie over the years. They bought Caspar Netscher from Katie."
