Rushmount secured a third course success at Thurles this morning in fine style.

The Jonathan Sweeney-trained gelding had won twice over timber at the venue and was making his first start in handicap company over fences today.

Philip Donovan produced the top-weight to challenge three from home in the two-mile-five contest and he eased to the front early in the straight, from front-runner Mount Frisco

The 11/4 favourite popped the last and didn’t have to come off the bridle to record a comprehensive 14 length success.

"That was impressive, as he had top weight around here in a tricky enough race,” said Sweeney.

“I had him in the beginners' chase at Leopardstown over Christmas but it was after we got the handicap mark recently that I decided to come here. He also likes the nicer ground here.

"He had some good runs, had a nice run here the last day and that bit of experience stood to him.

"We'll see where he goes next and being suited by spring ground, Cheltenham is a possibility."
