Highwayman plunders feature in Leopardstown Highwayman was a revelation upped in trip to 1m6f in the Listed Vinnie Roe Stakes at Leopardstown. Scott McCullagh's mount availed of a lovely seam on the inner turning for home and soon took closer order. He set sail in second with the aim of passing the leader, and stablemate, Wyman racing to the final furlong. He got to grips with the leader inside the final furlong and stayed on well to extend the advantage to two and a quarter lengths at the line. Runner-up Wyman (7/2) brought up a one-two for O'Brien, with Piazza San Marco (5/1) rounding out the placings in third. The winning son of Persian King won his maiden over an extended 1m3f at Killarney by a whopping nine lengths last month. This gave Joseph O'Brien an across-the-card double as One Number (4/5f) was also on the mark at Lingfield. Stable representative Mick Halford said: "He is improving rapidly. Lovely straightforward horse with a great temperament. He is improving run to run. "I'd say he just needed time. He just took a while to come to himself. Now that he's come to himself he's really stepped up in spades. Its lovely to see that improvement."  Additional reporting by John O'Riordan
