Ryan and Spencer take the Wokingham York Glory bounded clear to win the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot under a jubilant Jamie Spencer. The 14/1 chance was tipped by both Simon Holt and Ben Linfoot and proved far too strong for his rivals to give the winning rider and trainer Kevin Ryan a second winner of the week. Shropshire (12/1) took second, a length-and-three-quarters adrift, with Dinkum Diamond (22/1) and Khubala (16/1) third and fourth. "They went slow for a Wokingham and I was travelling too well early on but had cover. I ended up going a little sooner than ideal because the gaps were there. I rang Kevin to get this ride myself," Spencer told Channel Four Racing. Ryan added: "This horse has always had a big day in him. He's very talented and both Jamie and Neil Callan have great faith in him."
