Sales bound Spodo shows gets his turn Spodo Komodo and Lunigiana dominated in the Tote Always SP Or Better Maiden, with the Johnny Feane-trained former ultimately coming out on top. After alternating the lead, the pair had a protracted tussle from the furlong pole and there just a neck between them at the line. Returned a 15/2 chance, the Ronan Whelan ridden victor certainly wasn't winning out of turn, after finishing fourth, fourth and third on his first three starts. On what was her first start since December, the Willie McCreery-trained runner-up (8/1) lost little in defeat, with Poweracclaim (4/1) a further two-lengths away in third. Beaten by just a short head over the course and distance last month, Glory To Be was the 7/4 favourite (from 3s early) and he finished fourth. "He's been running well. I usually give out about the handicapper, but he rated him 68 which I thought was a bit easy on him and I fancied him today," Feane reflected. "His form has been working out well and it's nice to win today. He's going to the sales." Additional reporting by Alan Magee
