Sarafina advertises Arc claims Sarafina enhanced her Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe claims with a fine win in today's Group Two Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud. Alain de Royer-Dupre's filly (4-7 favourite) was held up off the pace but moved closer to the leaders at the two furlong pole. Produced by Christophe Lemaire, she moved into the lead on the outside with a furlong to run and saw off Andre Fabre's Announce (6-1) for a cosy win. One Clever Cat was well-held back in third, Luca Cumani's Contradense finished fourth, with Lily Of The Valley disappointing further back. Third in Longchamp's big race last season, the filly was cut to 10/1 (from 12s) for this year's renewal of the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe by Victor Chandler. Georges Rimaud, the Aga Khan's racing manager, said: "She ran well, turned left well and she beat a very nice filly (Announce), so we were very pleased. Everything was good. "I suspect that plans need to be reviewed again. "She could be aiming for the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, but that is not certain. "We need to see what the other horses are going do in the next couple of weeks. "In the Prix Ganay it was her first run of the year and she won very well today with nice acceleration. "The jockey was very patient and she came in and won."
