Sarangani to miss Plate Ante-post favourite Sarangani will miss the Foster`s Lager Northumberland Plate, it was reported today.He has developed a minor illness which will rule him out of tomorrow`s Newcastle showpiece.'It`s heartbreaking that he can`t run,' trainer Mick Easterby told the Racing Post.'He`s given a couple of coughs and, while it could be something or nothing, I`m not prepared to risk running him in a two-mile race which could end up doing him in if he`s not quite right.'We`ll just go quietly with him and see how he is but the idea now would be to prepare him for the Ebor in August.'Sarangani had been 5-1 joint favourite for the Northumberland Plate, having won impressively at York last time out.
