Saturday´s and Sunday´s Stable Quotes Saturday´s and Sunday´s Stable Quotes with AT THE RACESSATURDAY 3.00 Saturday ASCOT -STEENBERG Mark Tompkins said: 'Six or seven is his trip and he wants easy ground. He is a very good horse as he showed when he was second in the Duke Of York. He was badly drawn in the Golden Jubilee at Ascot and the ground was fast but he was only beaten four lengths by Fayr Jag. There is a big race in him when everything is right and that could happen in the Stanley Leisure Cup at Haydock on September 4 ? he was fourth last year.'3.25 Saturday RIPON - ANGELOFTHENORTH James Bethell said: 'She lost her action at Chester last time out and I thought the ground would be softer than it was. Her sire wanted it like a bog and I think this is a five furlong filly on soft ground. Six might be ok on faster going.'SUNDAY 3.35 Sunday MUSSELBURGH - MISTER MARMADUKE Ian Semple said: 'I think maybe seven furlongs - or a stiff six - is his ideal distance. We ran him over five in August and, while he ran well that day, the trip looked just a little bit sharp for him. He handles any ground and is the type to make a better four-year-old. Having said that, I can see him running on the all-weather over the winter and winning some more races.' 4.20 Sunday ASCOT - SERGEANT CECIL Rod Millman said: 'He's still won 25 grand for his placed efforts but he has to come off a strong pace. Kieren Fallon rode him very handy earlier in the season and he pulled too hard. Jimmy Fortune has got the key to him and drops him right in which gives him a turn of foot. This race will suit him because they'll go faster and he's still off 93 because it was an early closing race. He wouldn't want it sticky. I'd only finish him for the season if he ran a bad race and I'm thinking about the November Handicap. He's very well at the moment.'5.15 Sunday MUSSELBURGH - MILLAGROS Ian Semple said: 'She won three times for us last season, at Hamilton, Carlisle and Musselburgh, and got another victory on the board at Ayr in August. She couldn´t get covered up last time out when she finished third of eight behind Poppys Footprint and I think if she´d had slightly more luck she would have gone very close. She did extremely well physically from three to four and I´m hoping she will progress again. She works like a decent filly and seems in great form.'
