Sedgefield inspect again in the morning

Officials at Sedgefield are going to give Tuesday's meeting 'every chance' of beating the elements and will inspect again at 7.30am.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore called a first check for 4pm this afternoon and, while the track was covered in snow, rain is forecast overnight.

'We will inspect again at 7.30am. I've seen four forecasts, and they say we should be getting rain from 1am onwards,' said Moore.

'That might mean we have too much moisture in the track but until I see that, I can't call it off. The odds are not hugely in our favour but we want to give the meeting every chance,' he added.
