Sheridan bookends card on Rock Kilcrea Rock gained a deserved success when claiming the concluding ten furlong maiden at Dundalk, giving Joey Sheridan a first and last race double on the card. The Joseph O’Brien-trained gelding travelled strongly into contention in the straight and hit the front over a furlong from home. He did have a look in front but had enough up his sleeve late on to record a half-length victory at odds of 16/5. Steel Cut stayed on well to win a tight three-way finish for the runner-up spot. Kilcrea Rock had been placed three times previously. Sheridan said: "He loved it (surface). "I got there too soon, but they didn't take me far enough. It didn't feel like we were after going over-hard. "He's a grand horse and I think maybe in a better race, where they will go a bit harder and they take him a bit further, he'll come on. “I think maybe after getting his head in front, it might do his confidence the world of good. "He probably would go a mile and a half. I think a fast tempo mile and a quarter will stand him in good stead." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
