Simcock and the Hays lose The Corsican David Simcock has been dealt a blow as The Corsican was put down after suffering a gallops accident on Wednesday morning. Last seen finishing fifth of 10 in the Group One Prix Ganay, he held an entry in this weekend's Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Cup at Epsom. A winner at Listed and Group Three level for Simock, his full-brother Deauville is due to run in the Investec Derby on Saturday for the same connections, Jim and Fitri Hay. "The Corsican was a very talented horse, whom I felt the best was still to come from," the Newmarket trainer told www.davidsimcock.co.uk. "He will be greatly missed by the team at Trillium Place and our sympathies go out to his owners."
