Simply Natural scores for Cromwell & Donoghue Gavin Cromwell’s Simply Natural (5/2) scored on seasonal reappearance today, landing Galway’s Colm Quinn BMW Mares Maiden Hurdle for the trainer’s dentist, owner Conor Irwin. Placed fourth on a previous start at the Punchestown festival last April, Simply Natural today made all the running under jockey Keith Donoghue, when beating Light Up The Dark (4/7f) by six lengths. Cromwell commented “she got a grand ride from the front, they went steady and quickened down over the last couple of hurdles. The experience she had stood to her and the idea had been to draw the inexperience out of the favourite (Light Up The Dark). It worked well and is a nice start to the season. “She has a handicap mark already and has plenty experience. “It is great for the (Simply Ridiculous) syndicate, who are a good local group of six and my dentist Conor Irwin heads it.”
