Off the track since December 2024, Sir Allen showed no ill effects from that layoff when making a winning reappearance under Orla Tynan in the Enjoy Hospitality At Navan Racecourse Handicap.

Racing keenly in mid division, Tynan allowed the Eight Star Syndicate owned gelding stride on into the lead with over half-a-mile to run.

Pushed along over two-furlongs out, the Andy Slattery trained 11/1 chance kept finding for his young rider, seeing off all comers to win cosily by three-and-a-half lengths.

Andy Slattery said: "I thought he would need the run today and then somewhere in three weeks.

"He's a good horse, he should have won a Boodles. That was the worst day of my racing life the day he ran in Cheltenham in the Boodles.

"He got a leg injury, and he was off for a year and a-half. I didn't see that coming.

"Loves that ground and he's a good horse.

"He'll go over fences too during the summer."
