The Slatterys bagged a quick double at Navan today when Kodi Brown ran out a convincing winner of the first division of the ten furlong handicap.

Andrew Slattery junior produced his mount to lead passing the two pole and the 9/1 shot galloped on strongly in the closing stages to post a three-and-a-quarter length success.

It was a Kodi Bear filly's first outing since last November. She had been placed twice last autumn.

Trainer Andy Slattery senior said afterwards:-

 "She had been working well.

"She was ready to run in April and then she got an injury. She did her pelvis during the summer, and she was off and missed a lot of work.

"She did that well and she was unlucky in this race last year (runner-up) when the saddle slipped on her.

"She does like it here.

"She is owned by a lovely man, Finbarr Walsh, and he enjoys his few horses. He made the trek from Cork today."
