Solly Attwell makes it a double for Collins It was all change in the closing stages of the Galway Races Handicap Chase as Solly Attwell (18/1) made the best way home to give Cian Collins a double on the card. Plenty of horses departed over this extended two-miles-six-furlongs trip and, indeed, the final two fences were omitted due to fallers. Futurum Regem attempted to kick on for home before the wings of the bypassed second-last, however, it was a long way home from there and Tell Nobody Nothin appeared to be going much the better as he closed up on the leader approaching the home bend. The closers were all boxing for position just in behind straightening for home as the field mostly came down the stands' side. The leader cracked in the final furlong as a staying-on Solly Attwell and Tell Nobody Nothin took over. Solly Attwell kept at it as Tell Nobody Nothin weakened in the closing stages and the winner prevailed by a length and a-quarter from a keeping-on Arctic Gale (6/4f), a nose in front of Cloughroe (22/1). Collins said: “He was disappointing the last day, the ground was probably too quick I think. “I tested everything with him, as I was very disappointed, but everything came back fine. “It was a better track for him here today as well. He did it well. “He had a light weight on his back and Jordan (Gainford) gave him a good ride. It worked out great.” Collins was also on the mark in Ballybrit with Sporting Glance (4/1f) in race five. Additional reporting by Gary Carson
