Soul City on Target for Guineas Soul City is on target for the Boylesports Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday. Richard Hannon's colt won the Goffs Million last year and is in line for a huge bonus if he can land the Classic. After a gallop with Hannon's two Lockinge runners, Paco Boy and Major Cadeaux last week, the Patrick Fahey-owned three-year-old is now raring to go. "He is really starting to come to himself," said Hannon. "We did not rush him in the spring as we had made our minds up to miss the Newmarket 2000 Guineas and wait for Ireland, where, as a Goffs Million winner, he qualifies for an extra million euros if he wins The Curragh equivalent. "Our patience is now paying off as we saw in that gallop on Wednesday, and, all things being equal, he'll take his chance in Ireland next weekend," he told his official website. Brian Meehan is also eyeing a crack at the race with Newmarket Guineas runner-up Delegator. In the immediate aftermath of the race Meehan had suggested that he was prepared to wait for Royal Ascot next month and the St James's Palace Stakes. However, the Dansili colt is in such good order that the Curragh has taken priority. "Delegator is on course for the Irish Guineas, depending on the ground, but I believe he's in the best form he's been in all spring," said Meehan.
