Sprinter bounces back to form at Cheltenham Sprinter Sacre returned to something like his best with a superb display in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham as he recorded his first win since April 2013. The Nicky Henderson-trained nine-year-old has had plenty of problems since dominating the two-mile division, but the former Queen Mother Champion Chase hero showed he was no back number with a classy performance. Mr Mole made the running until Sprinter Sacre (15-8 favourite) jumped his way to the front at the fourth-last in the hands of Nico de Boinville. The injection of pace was so quick that Sprinter Sacre soon went several lengths clear. He showed no signs of stopping and kept on stoutly to win by 14 lengths from Somersby. Savello was third and Simply Ned fourth. De Boinville, who won the Gold Cup on Coneygree in March, said: "It's just an amazing experience to finally get to ride him in a big event like this, we go back a long way. "The boss said whatever you do don't restrain him, he wants to enjoy himself and if he takes it up, he takes it up. He did and I wasn't going to take a pull. We thought with his schooling at home he had got his zip back." He added: "Words can't really express what I'm feeling. I've never experienced anything like it, it's unbelievable. "The reception was the closest thing to the Gold Cup you'll ever get."
