St Leger an option for Vent De Force The Palmerstown House Estate Irish St Leger at the Curragh on September 13 is just one option open to Vent De Force. Hughie Morrison's four-year-old booked his place in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot with a second in the Sagaro Stakes before winning the Henry II Stakes at Sandown back in May, beating Trip To Paris in the process. However, while the runner-up went on to land Gold Cup glory, Vent De Force trailed home 11th of the 12 runners and Morrison feels the quick ground was probably to blame. He said: "He's been fine since Ascot, but I think trundling around on firm ground caught up with him as I'm pretty sure staying (the Gold Cup trip) wasn't an issue. "He's already won a Group Three so we can't complain, but I'd maybe like to think about York (Lonsdale) and the Irish Leger - though I might not put him in the Cadran. "The other race that would suit him well is the Long Distance Cup at Ascot. "We have options."
