Stack bids to keep soaring with Angel Island Angel Island will aim to maintain Fozzy Stack's lightning start to his training career in the Coolmore Stud EBF Salsabil Stakes at Navan on Sunday. Angel Island, unraced as a two-year-old, created a very favourable impression when winning a fillies' maiden at Cork earlier this month, albeit in heavy ground. Stack said: "If the ground is on the soft side of good that should be fine for her, but she does handle soft ground well as we saw on her debut. "I wouldn't say it was a surprise she won on her debut, we'd been pleased with her work beforehand going into the race. "We always thought she was a smart filly and we'd been happy with what she was doing. "You'd like to think that she should have improved for her first run, mentally more than anything." A Leopardstown maiden on April 5 could have an impact on the race as the first two home that day, John Oxx's Bengala and the Willie McCreery-trained Aurora Butterfly meet again. They were only separated by a short head and McCreery feels he has nothing to lose by taking the winner on again. He said: "It looks a good race, but she ran well in Leopardstown and she's so well bred we said we'd let her take her chance. "I don't think she'll mind the better ground. "If she can pick up some black type we'd be delighted, but it would be a nice way to break her maiden if she could win." Aidan O'Brien runs four - Bound, Butterflies, Key To My Heart and Pocketfullofdreams - while Dermot Weld saddles Queen Anne's Lace, fourth in the Park Express at Naas last time out.
