Star Of State looked something of a ‘good thing' on the form of her second in the Lowther Stakes at York and duly landed prohibitive odds in the €316,500 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes at the Curragh.

The 1/5 favourite was sent to the front just under two furlongs out by Ryan Moore and was driven out to score by two and a quarter lengths.

Fine Line showed much improved form under a patient ride by Joey Sheridan coming home strongly to defy odds of 200/1 in second, with Alpe d'Huez a further three and a quarter lengths away in third.

Winning trainer Joseph O'Brien said, “That's lovely, it was good prize-money and she's a nice filly. It was nice to have a nice winner here for Jaber and she's an exciting filly for the future.

“Libertango just nabbed her late the last day and she's probably the best filly around, so we have to consider the Cheveley Park.

“Today was a nice opportunity with her and we'll discuss it with Jaber and see where they would like to go next with her.

“It's nice to have the State Of Rest connection too.”
