B.M. Coen, rider of Sapphire Sun, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very keen early on

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales that B.M. Coen, rider of Sapphire Sun, had weighed in 1.4lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount had been very keen to post and he had a drink of water when he got to the start. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that B. M. Coen was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned B. M. Coen on this occasion

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Fine Line, placed second, as compared with its recent form. Denis Gerard Hogan stated that an ease in the ground today coupled with a good ride had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Fine Line, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis.

For two years old only which had been sold or bought in under the hammer at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale of 23rd, 24th and 25th September, 2025 and the Tattersalls Ireland Sapphire Sale of 16th December 2025 and had been declared by Tattersalls (Ireland) Ltd. as eligible to be entered and run in accordance with the relevant Conditions of Sale. Horses which do not have a registered name and have not been recorded as Racing Active with a Licensed Trainer by Wednesday 29th July, 2026 (or if entered from a Foreign Racing Authority named and recorded with a Licensed Trainer) will be automatically struck out of this race. (Please note for un-named horses trained in Ireland which were foaled in Britain or Ireland an acceptable naming application should be made to HRI by Thursday, 23rd July, 2026 and for all other un-named horses, naming forms should be submitted earlier as the naming process will take longer)
