Sweet finished for the season Michael Barry reports Sweet As A Nut to be none the worse following his fall at the Cheltenham Festival and is looking forward to another point-to-point campaign next season. The seven-year-old had won a hunter chase at Limerick back in December and a three-mile event at Tallow in February before rolling on to Prestbury Park, where he was a not unfancied 14-1 shot in the Foxhunter Chase. However, Sweet As A Nut was feeling the pace a long way from home that day and eventually came to grief at the last, with Barry now having chalked a line under the current campaign. He said: "He fell at the last in Cheltenham and he was just winded, he took about 10 minutes to get up. He was just badly winded, he had no injuries as such. He was exhausted I'd say, they went very quick and I'd say the ground was a bit too fast for him. He was on his ear to try to keep up with them. "I'm after pulling the shoes off him now so we will leave it until next year, he is only seven. His ground is gone now anyway, he wants a cut in the ground. He is in good form and he is on his summer holidays now. "He will probably go point-to-pointing again next season and we'll go hunter chasing with him again, that's what we do, we are point-to-point people. We had a good year with him anyway. "The problem with the likes of Cheltenham is the ground dries out there very quick, they have it so well drained. He is unlikely to get his ground at Cheltenham. He wants it soft. "We were a bit disappointed with how he ran in Cheltenham but he just wasn't able to go that gallop on that type of ground."
