Swinburn to commence training in 2005. Former top Flat jockey Walter Swinburn is to commence training in 2005 when his father-in-law Peter Harris is to hand over his 125-box establishment into Swinburn´s care. The three-time Derby winning jockey, who retired from race-riding four years ago due to weight problems, commented 'this is a wonderful opportunity and one I am thoroughly looking forward to. I will certainly be giving it my best shot.' He added 'Having been here the last few years and enjoyed the amount of time I have put in, it was a privilege when Peter asked if I would take over.'Harris, who has held a training license since 1981, stated 'I am absolutely delighted he has agreed to take over and I am sure he will do a great job. I won´t be disappearing altogether when Walter takes over, but you can´t run a stable by committee and I will just be here if I am needed.'
