The Lark ruled out of Ascot today The Lark is set to be rerouted to the Prix Royal-Oak at Longchamp on Sunday week having been forced to miss the Qipco British Champions Fillies and Mares Stakes at Ascot this afternoon after coming into season. Michael Bell's high-class filly finished third in the Oaks at Epsom and following a disappointing trip to France, got back on the winning trail with an impressive display in the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster last month. Connections had been looking forward to seeing her line up on Champions Day, but she will instead head to France for next weekend's one-mile-seven-furlong Group One. Bell said: "She's come into season and we've decided to wait until the Prix Royal-Oak. "We have that as an alternative, so there is no point taking any chances with her today."
