The Gordon Elliott-trained Thinkitdontjinxit (3/1) was an impressive winner of the Corrib Oil Maiden Hurdle for rider Jack Kennedy. The five-year-old son of Vadamos was placed in two bumpers and, having his first start over hurdles, put in a really polished performance to run out successful by nine lengths, with the Ross O'Sullivan-trained Touch The Clouds in behind and Boycetown finishing third.

Kennedy was happy to allow his mount to go to the front before two out, and a couple of neat jumps secured victory.

Speaking after the race, assistant trainer Lisa O'Neill said: "He had nice bumper form on soft ground, and this was a nice start for the season. He handled today's conditions well, and the way he finished was quite impressive. Jack thinks he could be a nice horse.

"Gavin's horse (Cromwell, third-placed Boycetown) is obviously decent, so it's onwards and upwards now, hopefully, for our one, and I think he will improve from the run."
