Cailin Mor had the form to earn her top-weight for her debut in nursery company in the Bobbyjo Bistro Great Food Great Deals titled six furlong event. She proved up to the task too, at odds of 15/2 under Ronan Whelan.
The Lope de Vega filly looks well named and she was always to the fore on this occasion.
Bred by Ballylinch Stud, the farm at which her promising sire stands, Cailin Mor carries the familiar Davy Brennan colours and she is trainer by Joanna Morgan.
She got the better of Not Really from over a furlong out and then held the run of No Way Jack by three parts of a length.
"She's improving with every run. She's a huge filly, already 17 hands, and she'll be better next year. She has plenty of pace but is still a bit weak. They are all sprinters in her family," reported Morgan.
Along with the aforementioned Brennan, Margaret Morgan (Joanna's mother) and Donal Breen (nephew of the late Fr Sean Breen) are part owners of Cailin Mor.
J.P. Murtagh, trainer of Royal County Boy reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was struck into in running.
