Gary Moore has set his sights on making Sandown's Tingle Creek Chase in December the first major objective of the season for Grade One-winning chaser Ar Mad.

The six-year-old has been sidelined since winning at Plumpton in February, after which it emerged he had sustained a condylar fracture which required a screw to be inserted in his leg.

That injury ruled him out of the Cheltenham Festival but Moore reports his charge, who won both the Henry VIII Chase and Wayward Lad Novices' Chase last term, to be progressing well with the Grade One Tingle Creek on December 3 identified as a key target.

Moore said: "Ar Mad is in great form. He had an X-ray at the end of July and it seemed all good and he has recently had a saddle on him for the first time.

"He is good, back and raring to go. He looks fantastic. The Tingle Creek will be his first big aim.

"The problem is there are not too many races he can run in as he is rated 157 and the programme maps itself for him."
