Titans aims to rule at Fairyhouse Thunder And Roses gave Sandra Hughes a day to remember at Fairyhouse last Easter when landing the Irish Grand National and connections will be hoping his half-brother Wrath Of Titans can follow a similar route as he starts off over fences at the course on Wednesday. The Oscar gelding had a decent novice hurdle campaign last season but the bigger obstacles have always looked the long-term aim for the former point-to-pointer. Having won his maiden hurdle over two miles and six furlongs, the Gigginstown-owned gelding will obviously appreciate a test of stamina like his sibling and the Next Racing At Fairyhouse November 18th Beginners Chase looks a nice starting point. He faces an interesting rival in Sir Ector, who also makes his chasing debut. There are unlikely to be too many horses rated 100 on the Flat tackling fences this season and James Lambe's charge has some decent form over timber, including when third at the Punchestown Festival, but is clearly a better animal on the level. It will be intriguing to see how he handles fences. The Gigginstown colours have been prolific as the jumps season kicks into gear and they look to have another leading contender in the Christmas Parties At Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle with Delegate. Gordon Elliott's charge was pitched into Grade Three company on his hurdling debut at Limerick last month and was running a nice race before falling at the final flight. He failed to quicken with the principals two from home then but was set for a nice introduction behind the classy Long Dog before his tumble. Crown Of Gold, who was mugged close home here last month, looks an obvious threat. Jim Culloty's gelding looked all over the winner last time but was collared late on by Ma Garrett. Solatentif could have his form boosted by Delegate ahead of the I.N.H. Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle, as he chased home Long Dog at Limerick last time. He proved no match for the easy winner then but it was still a fine run and he appears to face an easier task now. Akito, who ran well to finish third in handicap company at Punchestown last month, has Donagh Meyler taking a valuable 7lb off his back in the two-and-a-half mile contest and may prove a danger.
