Top Sire Efisio Dies Efisio, sire of dual Guineas winner Attraction, died at Highclere Stud this morning.The 24-year-old was not only responsible for Mark Johnston's star but also the likes of Hever Golf Rose, Le Vie Dei Colori, Tomba and Riberac during his breeding career.Trained by John Dunlop, Efisio was an unbeaten Group winner as a juvenile and twice Champion Older Miler before retiring to stud in 1988.After spells at Hever Castle Stud and Stockwell Stud in north Yorkshire, Efisio was moved to Highclere, where he stood for the last 12 years.John Warren, joint-owner of Highclere Stud, said: 'During his stud career Efisio enabled a large number of smaller breeders the chance to upgrade their mare from a modest stud fee.'He was an incredibly consistent and successful sire and will be much missed by everyone at Highclere.'?
