Top Trip has Cadran target Top Trip will have the rest of his season geared around a crack at the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp in October. Francois Doumen's stayer continued his progression this season by finishing a close third behind Estimate and Simenon in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot last week. The four-year-old will now be given a break before returning for the Prix Kergorlay at Deauville on August 18, which should set him up nicely for the Cadran on October 6, Arc day. "He came out of the race amazingly well considering he had such a hard race," said Doumen. "He will have a bit of a break now before he makes his comeback at Deauville as we look ahead to the Cadran. "There are other options, obviously, and things can change, but at this moment that is what we are thinking. "I was absolutely delighted with him. He got a little bit squeezed up inside the final furlong so he may have finished a little closer but may not have won. "Hopefully I have a replacement for my old boy Kasbah Bliss. We won't be sending him hurdling though - he's only 15.3 hands high, so he's very small. "He's entered in the Arc but I think it will be more logical to be looking at the Cadran."
