Tote announce Hong Kong link up The Tote has announced this week that it will be offering betting options on all Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) fixtures with immediate effect. Hong Kong boasts the biggest per-race betting turnover in the world and turnover per-race among the various pools on offer typically reaches a figure in excess of €20 million. Irish players will initially be allowed to bet into the Win, Place and Tierce (Trifecta) pools.   The Hong Kong Jockey Club offers arguably the most competitive racing environment in the world. Hong Kong has two tracks, Sha Tin and Happy Valley. A total of 88 race meetings are staged throughout year, excluding the latter half of July and August. Typically, Happy Valley stages eight races from 12.15pm Irish time on Wednesday afternoons, with the weekend cards of ten races usually staged at Sha Tin starting at 6am Irish time.   The main events during their season are the Hong Kong International Races on the second Sunday in December featuring four very valuable Group 1 events. The Hong Kong Derby is held in March and Audemars Piguet QEII Cup took place last weekend. Meanwhile, this Sunday, 7th May features a Group 1 double header in the form of the Champions Mile and Chairman’s Sprint Prize, both available to stream live on www.TheTote.com.
