Tramore schooling racecourse unveiled Tramore yesterday unveiled its new schooling facility on the grounds of the original site where a new racecourse development has been posponed. In 2006, Waterford & Tramore Racecourse Compnay was given planning permission for the building of a Grade 1 racecourse and facilities on a 183 acre site at Lisselan, Tramore. While the development of the racecourse has since been stopped, over €2m has been invested in the project and yesterday saw the first part of the deveopment unveiled with the opening of the track as a schooling ground. Trainers will be charged between €60-€80 on a per-use basis on the 1m6f grass circuit. The course is 80 metres in width and there are three separate tracks. Commenting on the left-handed course, jockey Ruby Walsh stated "it is a lovely surface and has settled in well. There is a great sod on it which will stand up to plenty of racing. Its going to be some track!"
