Treble For Title-Chasing Spencer

Jamie Spencer galvanised his position at the top of the jockeys´ championship with a 6-1 treble at Newcastle.

The rider got the ball rolling aboard the David Nicholls-trained Bailieborough (9-4) in the nitex.co.uk Claiming Stakes, before Conscript (1-5) obliged in the Betterware Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Spencer, who now has 118 winners for the season, completed his hat-trick when 4-5 favourite Zalimar ran out a facile winner in the concluding Bardon Esh Handicap.

Closest rival Seb Sanders was successful aboard Richard Fahey´s Anna Pavlova (10-1) in the Chisholm Bookmakers Blaydon Race at the same venue.

Sanders now trails Spencer by nine wins in the race to be crowned champion jockey.
