Treve basks in adulation Galileo has been identified as a possible first stallion for Treve, who wowed the racing world with a second consecutive victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday. Criquette Head-Maarek's filly was a stunning winner of the Longchamp showpiece in 2013 but the chances of successfully defending her crown appeared slim following a largely forgettable four-year-old campaign. However, she rediscovered her potent turn of foot to once again run out an emphatic winner of Europe's premier middle-distance prize on what was a spectacular swansong. Speaking from her stables in Chantilly on Monday morning, Head-Maarek said: "She's fine and eaten everything. I think that's definitely it. Sheikh Joaan (Al Thani, owner) wants to retire her. "She's going to Sheikh Joaan's stud, I don't know to what stallion first, maybe Galileo. "She will stay here for a while first, I need to let her down and let her go without pressure. "If she hadn't had problems I would have been asking the Sheikh to let us go for a third Arc, but not with her problems - that is now impossible."
