Unique Journey back to winning ways at the Curragh The Danny Murphy trained Unique Journey recorded the second win of his career when defying topweight to take the 1xbet.ie Supports Irish Racing Handicap at the Curragh. Off the mark at Naas in April, the three-year-old had struggled in stronger company in recent starts. However, having shown a bit more when seventh in the Bold Lad here last month, the 6/1 chance resumed his progress in this contest. Prominent throughout under Shane Foley, Unique Journey was produced to challenge Gerrit's Gem over a furlong out. Getting to the lead 100 yards from home, the eventual winner kept on nicely to prevail by a neck. “I’m delighted with the run because he’s a three-year-old. He had a four-year-old beside him and he’s a big strong horse that Gerrit’s Gem,” said Murphy. “He ran a cracker in the Bold Lad, and he hadn’t run in three months because of the hard ground in the summer. “He’s a good horse and I’ll consider entering him for York next Saturday, there is a £100,000 handicap. If he got heavy ground again he’d go. “He’s in the October Sale. The owners want to buy a couple of yearlings so I said if we got a few quid for him we’d buy a couple of yearlings.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson,
